Mrs. Shannon Lenor StokerFuneral services for Shannon Lenor Stoker, 45, of Longview, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Parkview Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Lymessia Ingram officiating and Rev. J. C. Watkins as eulogist. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Longview, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services.Shannon was born on Wednesday, December 16, 1970 in Longview to Larry and Cynthia Nickelberry Grant and was graced with an additional mother, Mimi Carol Grant. She departed this life on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Henderson Health and Rehab Center in Henderson, Texas. Early in life she united with Galilee Baptist Church and more recently in the past few years became a member at Parkview Missionary Baptist Church.She was a member of the 1990 graduating class at Longview High School where she played volleyball and was a stand-out basketball player. She later attended Kilgore College majoring in Criminal Justice. Her love of sports enabled her to coach basketball at Foster Middle School and coach volleyball and basketball at other entities as well as play City league softball.  Always an advocate for children, she served as a foster parent and was employed by Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of East Texas. She dearly loved her family, all things purple, reading and writing poetry.  Her great-grandmother, Odella Micken Nickleberry, grandmothers, Anitia Nickleberry and Ioler Beasley, a sister, Jessica Grant, aunts, Mary Huey, Carolyn Nickleberry and Charlotte Beasley all preceded her in death.Those that remain to cherish her memory are her son, Dexterrell Stoker of Longview, TX; her parents, Cynthia Murphy, and Larry and Mimi Grant all of Longview, TX; a sister, Brittany Grant Phillips and her husband, De’Bouise of Longview, TX; brothers, Carlton Grant of Ft. Worth, TX and Joshua Sanders and wife, Tasha of Garland, TX; grandmother, Opal Allen of Omaha, TX; three uncles, Calvert Nickelberry and his wife, Bridget of Naples, TX, Charles Beasley and Vivian Porter and his wife, Debra all of Longview, TX; three aunts, Debra Byrd of Longview, TX, Jackie Paul of Ft. Worth, TX and Marilyn Lafayette of Naples, TX; special aunts, Earlene Simmons, Mary Thompson, Linda Brentley and Donna Mangram, a special cousin, Debra Herron, and special friends, Alma Womack, Tammy Allen and Shakuntala Gholston and many other relatives and friends. Public viewing will be Friday, May 20, 2016, starting at noon until 6:00 p.m. at Victory Funeral Services.
