Mrs. Dorothy Jean HowardFuneral services for Dorothy Jean Howard, 63, of Longview, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2016 at Victory Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Ladarian McGee officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services.Dorothy was born to the parentage of Epsie and Eunice Bell Mayfield on Wednesday, November 26, 1952 in Kilgore, Texas. She departed this life on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas.She attended Leverett’s Chapel public schools where she played basketball. Upon entering the work force she became a home health care worker.Early in life she united with Mt. Comfort Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Kilgore. She was married to the late Nathan Howard.. She was a loving mother, a well thought of friend and a true blessing to all that knew her. Her parents and her husband all preceded her in death.Those that remain to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Kendra Washington of Longview, TX; LaKeisha Howard and Keondra Johnson both of Ft. Worth, TX; one sister, Betty Mayfield of Kilgore, TX; two brothers, Clarence Mayfield of Longview, TX and Calvin Mayfield of Kilgore, TX; four grandchildren, Keaira Howard of Ft. Worth, TX; Rodeisha Thomas, Cavon Washington and Jayden Kidwell all of Longview, TX; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.Public viewing will be on the day of funeral at end of the service.
