Mr. Thurman "Scrib" Adams, Jr. (Click on photos to enlarge)Thurman, more commonly known as “Scrib” , was born one of five children to the parentage of Thurman “Shang” and Maude Sibley Adams in Kilgore, Texas on Sunday, October 23, 1949. He departed this life on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas.In his youth, he united with and was baptized at Corinth Christian Church. He attended Kilgore public elementary schools and C. B. Dansby High School. After high school he attended trade school and received his auto mechanic certification.His first marriage was to the late Linda B. Ragsdale and two children were born to this union. He later married T. Ester Smith and one child was born to this union. After these marriages six more children were added to his parentage.His father, a son, Lathan Odell Adams, brother, Bruce Earl Adams and a special cousin, Curtis Jay Geter all preceded him in death.He leaves to cherish his memory to his mother, Maude Dennis of Kilgore, TX; five daughters, Meredith Pullins, Ebonique Dudley and Brila Funchess all of Longview, TX; Youlanda Mitchell of Ft. Worth, TX and Erica Adams of Tyler, TX; eight sons, Roderick Adams of Kilgore, TX; Douglas Adams of Tyler, TX; Dathan Pullins of White Oak, TX; Thurman Adams III, Logan Adams, Quinlan Adams, Jazzmon Dudley, and Christopher Dudley all of Longview, TX; one sister, Valerie Warren of Kilgore, TX; two brothers, Ardry K. Adams of Espinola, New Mexico and Michael Adams and partner, Tim Wilburn of Dallas, TX; one uncle, Lewis Ray Sibley of Longview, TX and one great uncle, Henyrel Hunt of Forney, TX; 24 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
