Mr. Elvers Lacy, Sr.Funeral services for Elvers Lacy, Sr., 77, of Kilgore, TX, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in the Victory Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Ray A. Geter officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services.Elvers was born to Edna Thurmond and Virgil Lacy, Sr. on November 7, 1937 in Kilgore, Texas. He departed this life on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Kilgore Health and Rehab Center.His elementary education was received at New Hope public schools and he graduated from Fredonia High School.  Early in life he united with New Hope Baptist Church and was a member until his demise. His work career concluded with retirement after decades of ownership and operation of Lacy’s Garage. He leaves to cherish his memory to his daughter, Delores Lacy Smith of Phoenix, AZ; son Elvers Lacy, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Longview, TX; special god-daughter, Texana Kenney of Kilgore, TX and special god-grandson, Brock Kenney of Kilgore, TX; sisters, Donell Austin of Phoenix, AZ; June Ross of Dallas, TX; Regina Rossum Bowens of Kilgore, TX; brothers, Joe Rossum of Henderson, TX and Stanley Rossum of Kilgore, TX; five grand children. His parents and sister, Sheryl Rossum, preceded him in death.Public viewing will be Monday, December 22, 2014, starting at noon until 7:30 p.m. at Victory Funeral Services. Final viewing will be one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
