Graveside services for Jimmy Michael Herndon, 62, of Tyler, Texas will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021 in the historic Danville Cemetery in Kilgore. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services.
Jimmy, more often referred to as Jim, was born on Thursday December 11, 1958 in Hallsville, Texas to his parents, Lee Roy and Betty Herndon and departed, this life Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas.
In his youth he grew up in Hallsville, Texas and attended public schools there graduating in the Hallsville High School Class of 1976.
His entire working career was spent working as a pipefitter. His last employment held was with GFS Fire Protection.
In 1983 he married, and two sons were born.
His parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sons, Derek Herndon of Midland, TX and Jeremy Chad Herndon and his wife, Alicia of Flint, TX; brothers, Johnny Sadler of Everett, Washington, Jody Burks of Theriot, LA; Jackie Herndon of Forney, TX; and Jason Herndon of Dallas, TX; two nieces Christian Herndon and Amber Herndon; and many other friends and family.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic social distancing and masks are required. Since the services will be held in an outdoor venue all guests should consider bringing a chair if not wanting to stand throughout the service.
