Graveside services for Francine Hall Preston, 70, of Kilgore, Texas will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Kilgore, Texas with Rev. Randy Ross as eulogist. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services.
Francine was born in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, September 14, 1950 one of three children to her parents, John Elmer and Josephine Hampton Hall. As life would have it, Francine, a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, friend, and faithful servant; went in peace to be with her Father in Heaven on Sunday, Resurrection Day, April 4, 2021 from her residence in Kilgore, Texas.
Her service to God began in Mt. Pleasant, TX where she was baptized. She later united with and served as President of the Pastor’s Aide until her health failed as an active member at Faith Center Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent H. P. Jordan. She also could often be found in fellowship within the local area churches celebrating the good news of the Gospel.
Francine’s education was garnered in the public school system with graduation in the Class of 1969 at L. G. Pinkston High School in Dallas where she was active in the band, drill team and Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC).
As a devoted mother and wife, she worked in her home taking care of her family whom she loved dearly. In return, she was adored by her entire family and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When not care-taking she could be found pursuing her passion of shopping caused by the need for the beautiful clothes she wore. Her other passions of going to church, phone prayer services, cooking and eating consumed the rest of her time. Being the one to always see the good in others she was dedicated to coming to their aid as Mrs. Fix-It, regardless of whether it was the person or the problem.
She and her husband, Robert Preston, were wed on July 13, 1977.
Her parents, her maternal grandparents, Herman and Blanchie Hampton, her paternal grandparents, Jessie and Maudie Hall, her nephew, Jarrod Hall, her uncles, Matthew Hall, Everett Hall, Howard Hampton, Arlee Hall, and Samuel Jackson, aunts, Barbara Bowie, Mary Ann Hampton, Betty Edwards, Theresa Lee Reed, and Pauline Randall, brother-in-law, Joshua Moore, Jr., and her cousins, Bobbie Jackson Moss, Roy Lee Mumphrey, and Larry Hampton all preceded her in death.
